The Greenhouse name was inspired by the hospital’s structure, both in the use of glass and the green sheen that the use of copper panelling gives the building’s exterior. However, it is also highly appropriate when you think about what greenhouses are for. Not only are they symbolic of warmth and light but they nourish and sustain young plants as they flower and grow – a rather lovely way to think of the new children’s hospital.
